Thanks for your quick response. i picked it up last evening. On the package the ID is ROG 7115-CGN3 and that is followed by a July 2013, presumably the manufacturing/release date. My original concern was that this may older stock that is inferrier to the current most recent batch. When I called to sign up for the new internet package, I was also told by the Rogers rep in their contact centre that I'd have a hard time finding the new Advanced modem, as they are showning all out of stock for rentals.
Putting all that together, I'm still somewhat concerned about the sale priced modem and I'd appreciate more feedback/comments.
One last question: do the firmware updates on these modems happen automatically?
