I believe I have tried one or two of those methods but will definitely revisit them all, especially after the post you added about Lyuan. I am still iffy on taking the cgn-3 from its wirless abilities since I have encountered problems with disabling it and using another router as wireless point- used a netgear 900 for that pupose and the wired capabilities became worse. Everything is worth a shot. The dir- 835 may behave better.
Maybe the last question: how did Lyuan go about getting through to rogers about focusing on the bridge mode? Thinking of bringing the game aspects up and seeing if any truth and fix and come about.
