I was talking to a tech the other day, and they were going to send a truck, and I told them that if all they were going to do is check the signal quality at my drop, that they should not even bother, as my signal has been perfect for over a year. I had to enphasize that this all started when I moved up to the new modem, and slowly, they tech started to understand where I was coming from -
After my new firmware 4.2.4.1 came down, I went back to bridge mode to test it, and my signal cut off after 8 hours. I put it back to gateway mode, and I'm going to test and see how long it goes for. The problem for me is that my modem is in a roof panel in my closet, so resetting the thing is a pain in the rear.
If your friend is also having issues in gateway mode, I might have to revert back to the cisco/cgn2 for now, until they get everything fixed, as I can't be climbing up into my closet every day. Let us know what the truck says if you keep the appointment.
